Toronto the boomtown what was happening tell us what was happening at Toronto at the time and give us a background because I think the boomtown is what sort of sets the stage right

Yeah.

I mean, we could spend an hour just on that topic, right? In mentioning how people today in Toronto, I mean, generally we, I don't know whether we are, but in very broad terms, we don't tend to do a very good job at telling our history.

There's a lot of um historical societies uh you know a lot of folks interested in history and there's actually quite a lot of stuff um done in the city in in terms of preserving and telling its stories but um but i think we could do a better job at preserving it and sharing because the history of toronto is fascinating and one of the things that maybe folks today don't realize is how much the city as we know it is fairly new the great metropolitan Toronto, the GTA, is a product of the 50s and 60s.

And it's kind of mind-boggling to just look at some of these aerial photos, for instance, of what is today Mississauga or Etobicoke or Brampton or whatever and see nothing, completely nothing in the 50s, right? And how...

incredibly fast that was built.

And so the boom was just incredible.
