[laughs]

And he said, "Oh, I beg to differ, honey.

You're a singer." He's like, "You, you s- if you ever wanna come make some records, uh, you know, come to Heart of Texas." And so Tracy was kind enough to give me that push I needed.

And my husband, when I had met him there, he was already in his process of coming to America and getting his work visa there.

And, um, and so he encouraged me.

He's like, "You know what? You got this time off.

Why don't you just take the leap? You can always go back to being a nurse.

Yeah.

Okay.

Well, I mean, I grew up listening to a lot of Linda Ronstadt and Bonnie Raitt.

I loved both of them.

Of course, I actually, Dolly and Loretta were on the countryside, some of my favorites.

And then into the 90s, I really evolved into listen to ladies like Lori Morgan and Patti Loveless and Pam Tillis.

And those were big influences for me because I love their style.

I love their spark, their attitude.

And Georgette?

What made you decide to go into nursing instead of going into a music career to start?

Wow.

First of all, I was terrified to try to sing in front of anybody.

I think somewhere, I started singing with mom and dad when I was three, but somewhere around eight or nine, I think I started realizing people were actually paying attention.

And you only would get little snippets.

You'd hear people say things and somebody would say something like, well, I wonder if she's going to sound like her mom or if she's going to phrase like her dad or if she's going to this or that.

And I started feeling the pressure that, Oh man, like I'm, I'm, you know, they expect me to sound good.

You you think of famous as being cool, but it's kind of a it's got bad, too.
