'Cause now you can start, you got that extra player to start moving or placing people in, in different s- uh, spaces.

Yeah, absolutely.

So you can definitely be more intentional about, well, one, you know, the coverages, where the road attack's coming from, um, h- you know, your cut and slide, uh, slot cut principles.

Um, so you can definitely be more intentional with that, 'cause you're gonna have more players on the court.

And I also think with the four on four it's, it's almost like the five on five.

It's, you know, I think four on four is great for teaching, 'cause it's, to me it's very similar to the five on five, and still simplified it enough so it's, you know, not...

I think it's a great learning f- transitioning from three on three to four on four before going to five on five.

I mean, what, what have you been telling them in regard to, okay, here's how you don't frustrate your players when you're going through this process?

Would you consider the Blazers a rival of

the Spurs? Absolutely not, Robin.

I think it's good to have these discussions and really see where a team like the Blazers can cause problems for the Spurs.

But honestly, just because they met in the playoffs...

And, you know, I wouldn't call that a rivalry.

I think they have very little that connects the two teams anyway.

I think they've met, like, three times in the playoffs.

They have Drew Holiday, Damian Lillard, Scoot Henderson, and they just added Ja Morant.

So what do you think about that? Do you think that the Philly fan base is just gonna be super harsh if they face off in the finals?

And they should be, and, and I, and I know, like, you know, a, a competitor like Tobias Harris, which he's an elite competitor, you know, he, he has to be.

He takes care of his body.

He plays every game.

He's, he's been elite in this league.

He's, you know, one of the, the better v- uh, veteran, um, in terms of how people think of him, how people speak about him.

Uh, he's gonna be fired up and ready for it, and I know there's one thing on his mind, like helping the team get back to the finals and finish the job.

Do you think that Harris' lack of rebounding ability is something that will work against the Spurs or it's kind of a non-factor? What's your take on that?

And do you think he has the potential to be as great as a player as Tony Parker?

Yeah, man, that's a big if.

Tony, obviously, one of the all-time spurs, great.

I think what they do have in common is the competitive spirit.

And I really like watching Gillespie compete.

And so I don't know, to answer your question, I don't know.

I think, you know, Tony Parker, finals MVP.

Talk to me about Terrence Reed Jr., his summer league performance.

Who should start, Dylan Harper or De'Aaron Fox?

Well, firstly, that is a great problem to have as a coaching staff.

And it's, you know, I can't tell you the answer, but maybe we can like brainstorm it together here.

And I think, you know, it really depends, right? Because if you look at the team, so, you know, it's a long shot, but you still have potentially LeBron James, right? Yeah.

but now let's look at tobias harris that we just signed right and tobias harris is proven uh similar to how harrison barnes was when he came over but obviously tobias harris is you know still coming off you know still having great seasons harrison bars is a little past that now so you know if if we just look let's say darren fox is the starter then you have maybe stefan castle julian champagne tobias harris victor and banyama So then maybe that takes Devin Vassell out of the starting lineup as well.

Well, now if we're arguing, should Dylan Harper start over De'Aaron Fox? So now you're having two potential starters from last year's team come off the bench.

Now, what I will say, as a coach, it's not as important who starts The main thing is who finishes.

Talk to me about a three-headed monster of Harper, Fox, and Castle starting for the Spurs.

First of all, do you think it will happen, before we go into what it looks like if it does happen?

Do I think it will happen? To be honest, I do not think it will happen, but I do think there is a chance that it could happen.

And we know from his previous experiences in free agency, LeBron waits till the last possible minute to make a decision, and he's-- he, he's one for drama.

I think if he wasn't a basketball player, he'd be, you know, a damn good actor.

So he know-- he, he knows what he's doing in terms of, you know, making business, making money for the business, making money for himself, um, and just keeping the people on their toes, giving the people what they want.

Like, we love tuning in, listening to people talk about where he's gonna go and what he's gonna do.

I, I think, you know, any team that LeBron goes to, it would work because he's just that good a basketball player.

What do you think about this particular free agent run, uh, free agency run for LeBron James, and where does it kinda rank in, in, in the mix with those other ones?

Talk to me a little bit about Terrace Reed Jr.

Yeah, personally, that's my favorite pick for the Spurs.

I love his upside.

I think, you know, you look at his kind of, I guess, his numbers from compared to Jaden Quaintance and you look, well, you know, it's not that dissimilar.

Why, you know, why is he going, you know, maybe lower or higher, depending on how you look at it in the draft.

But then it's, you know, he can't necessarily guard out on the perimeter.

And then we'll talk a little bit about Malik Brown as well, who I think that's one of the reasons why he was drafted is his ability to switch and pick up guards and not have it be a mismatch.

So I think that some fans were like, who is this guy where the people who know are Understand that he is a vital piece for a, you know, a defensive squad that we believe is going to be one of the strongest defenses for years to come.

And what do you think about his overall overall performance in the finals? And what do you think is next for him with the Spurs?

Yeah, that's a great mindset.

I think everyone makes mistakes.

I would have loved it.

I thought he, you know, he, like you said, he was, he was shot ready.

He was getting his shots up early in the game.

I would have loved for him to just be more aggressive.

I was really impressed with how consistent Stefan Castle was on a defensive end of the, of the ball.
