Could you tell us a little bit more about your research in that area?
7:30
Our research in the CaTHED really started, I think, in pre-pandemic 2019.
7:36
We were talking about how the region on a whole had the, at the time, had the fifth highest rate of overdose deaths, and there was a real urgency and also commitment from community partners to try to figure out what's going on and what can be done about it, and the community really wanted to focus on opioid agonist treatment around access.
7:57
Some of the findings aren't surprising and are things that our people have routinely experienced in other settings, in other rural settings and o- other populations.
8:07
But when we think about systems that are set up, if you live in a community and you have a pharmacy that's right around the corner from you, that's not difficult to access necessarily.
8:16
You know, if you're traveling every day and sometimes long distances, what does that look like? And, and that really depends on where you're living, right? Perhaps you do have access to a bus, but that bus runs once a day.
8:28
We talked to people who were living on neighboring islands, and so they actually relied on a ferry to travel to town, and so that's, like, quite a significant amount of travel for accessing a medication.
11:39
Are you able to share any of the results of people's thoughts on whether it would work for them or anyone trying it out maybe?
