He's thinking, I'm really nervous.

I don't know what's going on, and I've heard that lie detector tests aren't always right.

What if it says I do know about Ruth? Then he thinks, but if I say I won't take one, then they'll think I'm guilty.

So he agrees to take the test.

She was on her way, and they were going to get their answers.

What LaMunyon told me, the key to the case was that he refused to meet Ruth.
