Is it, is it the same thing in reverse?
20:10
It is.
20:10
It's like, uh, you know, there's a lot of subtle differences to think about when you're doing the body hair implantation.
20:18
This-- Typically, the scalp is the, the best donor area, hands down.
20:22
So we do u- still use the scalp if that's available and, uh, you know, as long as the patient isn't anticipating needing that donor down the road.
20:31
And we will take the scalp hairs and, and...
20:35
B-But there are some differences.
21:54
Do-- Have you seen a similar increase with beards and facial hair?
12:50
Can you talk a little bit about how that impacts whether hair loss accelerates, whether it decelerates and how that really changes the work that you do as the hair transplant surgeon?
12:59
Well, it does a little bit.
13:01
Of course, the androgens, the testosterone, and it's important to remember that both men and women have both testosterone and estrogen in their system.
13:10
It's just the quantities and the ratios are different.
13:14
Testosterone will definitely cause hair loss.
13:17
So female to male transitioning patients who are on testosterone will notice increased male pattern baldness oftentimes.
13:26
And sometimes that's cool with the patient because they don't mind the more male look to that.

Like when you're seeing transitioning patients, what would you look for that would tell you that transplants are not what we should do?
