It was not a... shock or skidder rear end so yes uh people a lot of folks don't know what a w9 is today right so uh but anyway well thanks for joining me and uh thanks for this interview how did you guys get started tractor pulling

Oh, grew up on a farm.

Dad was always competitive.

And a neighbor joined the Northwest Club at Bowling Green.

A couple years later, Dad joined.

And just as a helper, then Dad had the opportunity to haul Heartbreaker 1. the first pulling sled to northwest club and we took a tractor we needed a tractor to load the sled on and back in them days we didn't have to have no safety equipment to speak of so one time dad decided he made up a draw bar and Pulled and kind of got hooked, and he won the county fair with an 806 with an RD and an M&W pump on it.

And there was a lot of good tractors then, but Dad pulled off the fast hitch on the U-shaped drawbar, and he beat them all by a few feet.

So how long did he pull until you got a tractor?
