Chapter Three: The Meat Bucket with Gary D.

Gary D here up in Ontario, Canada with another one of my peculiar experiences.

This happened back when I was a teenager, and I did a fair bit of traveling as my dad was a incredible world traveler.

He went all over the place for work.

And I remember this happening during the heyday of punk rock, and I was going to London, England with a companion, and we were heading out that way, and we had booked a hotel that we had, uh, found out about, and didn't know a lot about it, but it sounded interesting.

We'd called them and booked a room, and when we arrived, you know, it looked like a decent place.

It was, uh, you know, central, so we'd get to close to all the regular tourist places, tourist, uh, hotspots to go see.

As I'm checking out the vintage furniture and unique sculptures, I hear my husband call my name from the other side of the store.

Sapphire.

[piano music] Chapter three: The Friend Who Wasn't There with Gary D.

Hey there, Gary D here up in Ontario, Canada, with another one of my what I would call real head-scratcher life experiences.

No scary monsters or blood and guts this time, just a very weird experience that I haven't been able to shake or explain.

And as many of you already know, I've had some pretty strange ones over the years.

That's for sure.

So back when I was in middle school, meaning grades seven and eight as we have it up here in Ontario, Canada, I had quickly made friends with another student who seemed to be on my exact same wavelength when it came to a lot of things.

And I'd

bring a phone with me to show them what it looked like compared to the dial phone.

and it was much lighter in weight, easier to use by pressing the buttons, and would be faster to use as well.

But on one occasion, I had to go visit a location that was basically a meeting place or a hall, as they called it, for army vets, where they all got together And they're able to, you know, talk about old times, have a beer together, play darts, that type of thing.

And this place had been around for a long time.

I think it was ever since the end of World War II, they'd had this thing set up.

So it was a very old building.

Chapter One: Not a Taxi Service.

When I think back on some of the strange or odd experiences I've had through life, um, going way back to when I was just a young child, I remember when I was in middle school, um, I had to walk probably about two and a half or three miles to get to school, and then the same thing back.

Occasionally I got a ride, but a lot of times I walked.

And it wasn't bad.

I didn't mind it.

I was in pretty good shape.

It's just when it was, uh, snowing or raining, some kind of bad weather, then it was...
