Well, for me and for everybody else listening, it's how you can consistently reduce that inner voice so that it doesn't get in the way of the stuff that can really... accelerate you know where you want to get to because there'll be times where your inner voice might win the battles of small things you know an extra slice of cake or beer but the bigger things that it will it will also be present for that could actually be the things that can really advance careers relationships life

Garry BanfordGUEST
Yeah, so one of the tenets that I was taught within my career that I still lean on massively is the military does a great job of making you disciplined.

Garry BanfordGUEST
They discipline you, and that teaches you various different habits and behaviours that you need to have.

Garry BanfordGUEST
What they're seeking is for you to be self-disciplined, and that's the real skill that we should all be trying to develop.

Garry BanfordGUEST
So you talk about the small challenges that we know there are, the cheap meals, all that kind of stuff.

Garry BanfordGUEST
Well, again, I would argue that if you're clear in what you're trying to achieve, then if you can't win in the small challenges, then you've got no chance when the big problems present themselves.

Garry BanfordGUEST
So just habitually... doing the right thing habitually doing what you say you will do habitually role modeling the right behaviors both to yourself when you look yourself in the mirror but also to those people around you they are the they are the wins and they become the big things so how do we do that well we I was again we spoke about this earlier I was quite lucky in the sense that we were able to do an awful lot of training around these problems and Again, if you can't control the inner critic in a training environment, then you've got much less chance of being able to manage it in an operating environment or a real environment.

you know seriously big football clubs it might be a kit man or assistant kit man or um the guy that gives out gives a tea to the referees at half time i remember we had a masseur once and they i felt you know you can feel quite chilled going going to the changing rooms for a game and then he'd stress you out because he was so he was so up for it as often all the volunteers they were more more invested perhaps sometimes than the full-time managers Would you have any, in that context perhaps, or as you're about to go into performance and you need to feel an element of relaxed, and it was a question I had a few later really around, and I've heard you talk about arousal levels and get that right personally between the right level of arousal for what you're about to do, but also for the people around you To recognize when somebody's under or over aroused, that's an art,
