But before that, why did Pew take this on and who funded it?

Well, all of our funding tends to come from the Pew Charitable Trust.

They're our primary funder.

Some of our research has other funding, but the charitable trusts are by far our primary funder.

But the reason why we looked at this is because we as an institution are guided by this idea of essentially holding up a mirror to society and showing them what people think.

So that's why we make everything that we all of our research is freely available to the public and is really focus on people's attitudes and their behavior around how the world is changing, how they're getting information, how they're responding to different things.
