He, he was a pastor, but he was just this gentle, kind man, and he always treated me with kindness, you know? Um, the weird thing was the way I found out, it was, it was funny.

Two things.

Commission, we were in the studio recording.

I believe it was Will You Be Ready? And one of the guys, 'cause he would have us come to his church, you know, and minister and he'd pay us $300, $400 to come and he put us on his, uh, convention platforms and, and we thought, "Wow, we got an in," you know? "That's cool." Everybody knew him in the group, and then one day, uh, the drummer, Michael Williams, came in and said, "Man, Bishop, uh, Bishop Watkins died." And we said, "Really?" And we stopped the session for a minute, and we all just reminisced about, man, this is really something.

Everybody was genuinely, they re- genuinely, like, all the guys genuinely liked him.
