but yeah it's it's firstly is being able to be comfortable on camera at speaking in the press if you do get a career where you you have to do that it's good to sort of be able to be comfortable with that as early as possible but also thinking about a whole different range of skills that if you start creating content at a younger age it will give you so editing the understanding of how to tell a story how to speak concisely and eloquently how to look at your social media stats and be like oh it seems like people like this so I'm learning about what marketing and my audience looks like and when to post and strategy so like there's a whole ton of sort of transferable skills that I mean most businesses and brands are on social media now so If you're able to build that for yourself, there's nothing to say you couldn't then build that for a different brand and a future career.

And even myself, I've now luckily had a career in the creative industry in sport.

And then to be fair to Canterbury, they came back and changed their policy and whenever they do a kit launch now, they'll always have, regardless of it being an international team or a grassroots team, they'll always ask for male and female players to be represented and make sure that doesn't happen again.

But it kind of was like a little bit of a turning point for me where I realised that getting it wrong is not just a missed opportunity but it's actually like can drive you backwards and it brought a lot of quite negative press to a moment that could have been quite positive for Ireland but it actually then demonstrates to me that the player's voice and if you can galvanise enough people and communicate it in the right way that's not aggressive like shouting at someone because people hear your tone before they hear what you say and I put it out there in a way that was quite like you've done this and you could have done this there's all the I don't want to just call out problems I want to give people solutions as well because otherwise you just then become like a problem maker and I actually want to not only point out where opportunities have been missed but also say hey look at this great thing you could do and then after that I was then like oh actually maybe this is a bit of a career thing like More brands need advice on what they can do.

And who better than someone who's got a qualification in a creative degree, but also an ability to communicate.

I know I'm lucky enough to have been played with a lot of international athletes who have different experiences as well and hearing about their experiences.
