Fiona, what would Proposal E accomplish if voters approve it then as that first step?
2:00
Yeah, that's a great question.
2:01
So like Brian said, Proposal E is just a first step in a 10 or 12 year plan.
2:05
Uh, Proposal E, what it would do is create a board, a nine-member board to be seated and appointed in 2028.
2:11
Five of those members would be directly elected, one from each ward, to ensure that we have way more accountability for our electric utility than we currently have with DTE.
2:18
And the other four would be appointed with one of those seats reserved for organized labor.
2:23
Um, this board, like I said, would be seated in 2028, and then we would vote again on if we actually want to acquire the poles and wires from DTE, uh, later in the process.

Why go this route? Why, why not just have a committee to start talking about these issues and flush them out that way?
