but there is a statement there, you know? If I choose to shop in this store versus that store, that, that has some kind of statement in there, or if I buy this product or that product or all of that.

Felipe SallesGUEST
And I'm not saying that you have to be always conscious, but, but it does exist.

Felipe SallesGUEST
And, you know, um, but of course- What I'm trying to say is that as you grow older, and especially after you have children, you start revisiting, at least for me it was the case, you start revisiting some of your, um, positions, identities, and things like that.

Tiffany ParksHOST
Did America live up to your expectations in other ways besides the amount that people practice?

Felipe SallesGUEST
I think it was in a certain way, you know, I think I met a bunch of people who kind of had a little bit of the, um, what do you expect from the movies? You know, my first girlfriend was a little bit of like a cheerleader type and then there were all those jock guys and it was weird because they were, they were also in classical music.

Felipe SallesGUEST
It was, it was a weird combination, but it was Boston was more of the shock, you know, because Boston is a very white city.

Felipe SallesGUEST
I don't know if nowadays, maybe less now, but it was a very, uh, racist city when I moved there.

Felipe SallesGUEST
So I, I, I realized much later, I mean, I wasn't used to, uh, being discriminated, but then after a while it was like, what's going on here? Is this people treating me like crap because I have an accent or this and that, you know, I mean, you have to, you don't know who I look now.
