did you get into this position in the first place? Where did it all start for you?
2:13
and michelle it's a very i was never i never planned this it was never a plan when i qualified something happened to my throat all of a sudden when i qualified as a dietitian i was a mature student so i was in my late i was in my mid late 30s when i qualified and um the struggle doing getting your education done when you've got children i never realized how hard it would be for me i really struggled so when i qualified i was so exhausted that i said that i'm not going to work at all i i give up i said i don't want to do this anymore and i'll i'll be a stay-at-home mom so being a stay-at-home mom i so that was the decision i made and then i realized that my children are going to school they don't have time for me so what have i done So I managed to find a part time job with the NHS where I was doing talks on diabetes for people who are newly diagnosed with diabetes, diabetes education.
3:14
But at the same time, because I was free in a way, children were going to school.
3:19
I started a Facebook group just randomly.
3:22
Oh, I'm sitting there.
3:23

If anyone's listening right now and they think that they might have diabetes, what would be the first like early warning signs for them to be watching out for?
AmandaHOST

You'll find all the details and the link in the show notes below and if you have any questions just let me know.
28:36
the thing is i we come we come back to the same thing again and again that it is really person dependent you know i i call them as a tool it's not the whole toolkit it is just part of the puzzle if someone let's not forget that this this medication has been we've been using this for many years for diabetes so it is And if someone who has got specific health conditions and they want to use it, please, this is something which has been developed for them.
29:07
So there's nothing wrong in it.
29:09
But the thing is that there are many sides to it.
29:12
So first thing is that, you know, it is just the one part.
29:16
Even if someone has got a specific health condition and they are going crazy.
29:20
They are planning to start GLP-1s.
AmandaHOST
31:10
So
24:59
So how long were you at home for with
25:01
the children? So it was only a few months.
25:03
And then I realized that my children have their own lives.
25:05
They're going to school half of the day.
25:07
They're not at home.
25:09
So what am I doing? What am I doing with my life? And whilst I'm doing this, I applied for, again, a part time job in the NHS as a diabetes educator, as a diabetes specialist who go out into groups.
25:23
And if they are those people who are newly diagnosed with diabetes, giving them that diabetes education.
