Or was this like a passion project that you've been thinking about for a while that you wanted to make? How did it all come about?

Evan BirchGUEST
This was a selfish, selfish decision to just film something cool with my dog is how it all began.

Evan BirchGUEST
It had nothing to do with documentaries or film festivals or what other people wanted of me.

Evan BirchGUEST
It was me and Nova having this bond that, you know, we had done, I'm willing to say up to that point, we had probably done over 20, 50K distances just in training over the period of, you know, four to five years that we were running together and kind of growing and building together.

Evan BirchGUEST
And I had somebody reach out, one of the filmmakers, Lucas Collin, who reached out more because of the mental health advocacy stuff that I do within the ultra running world with my diagnosis and everything that I experience and helping other people understand that they don't have to go at it alone.

Yeah, it's, I think I got to the place where, what's the best way to describe this? I got to a place where everything that I experienced and everything that I had gone through myself, I started asking questions like, there's no way that it's just me.

Evan BirchGUEST
Because at the beginning, you think that you are like man on an island all by yourself.

Evan BirchGUEST
And then you start to uncover the layers and you start to heal and you start to challenge the beliefs and the stories that you've created for yourself.

Evan BirchGUEST
And for me, as I started to see things in other people, I started to recognize that, man, like there are so many more people that are experiencing what I have experienced.
