So maybe you can tell us a little bit, what do you mean by that? How are they similar? And maybe how are they different?
8:48
So for me, grit, while we may say it as something that you should be proud of, I am gritty.
9:00
I can get through anything.
9:02
I can push through anything.
9:05
I can dust myself off and keep going.
9:10
That type of resilience is very reactionary.
9:17
It's not a purposeful resilience.

should we look for?

3:56
Well, I'd like to ask, you know, when people lose a job or, or title, you know, they often think they are grieving the opportunity, but are they actually grieving an identity?
4:08
Often they do not, actually.
4:10
Because what has happened to individuals, and for me specifically women over 50, we have already been carrying an identity that was given to us, right? We go to work every day.
4:32
We have a structure within that work that guides us through the day.
4:41
So you have meetings on your calendar.
4:44
Maybe you have a project plan with tasks that need to get done in a determined time, you know, uh, time space, right, in a timeline.
4:55
You have projects that you're working on that give you the why you are doing what you're doing, right? And when you experience unexpected job loss, that identity gets pulled away from you, or so we think.

It's a lifestyle." So what's the difference between someone who's simply enduring life and someone who's actually living resiliently?
AbrahamHOST
10:21
What are some of the biggest resilience challenges they face?
10:28
Wow.
10:30
So it might seem like an easy question, but it really isn't.
10:35
Because resilience sometimes...
10:41
No, not resilience.
10:42
The reason you need resilience may be disguised and you don't understand that what you need is resilience.
10:50
You think that there are other ways to... manage the challenge or the disruption in life, right? I think a lot of us, including myself, before I really started to recognize what resilience meant to me and to others, we think it's all about emotion, right? So resilience is an emotion that we have, where for me, resilience is more of a performance mindset, right? It allows you to really bridge where you are in life or in business, where you want to go in a very deliberate way instead of being reactionary, which goes back to pushing through with grit.

So can you please walk us through your EVA method and explain how it helps people move forward when they feel stuck or overwhelmed?
