What advice would you give somebody entering the UK ecosystem tomorrow?
1:04
The advice I would give to someone entering the UK ecosystem tomorrow is to bring your insight and your experience from other countries and help the UK to learn from that.
1:15
So I think coming from the US has given me a perspective about what perhaps we can learn from the States in terms of creating a really dynamic and ambitious economy and also some of the pitfalls that we can potentially avoid by creating stronger worker protections here.
1:35
So I think bring your experience, bring your insight from whatever ecosystem you're coming from and help to shape the policy discussion and the debate here.
1:43
what is the UK great at
3:51
Who have you met recently that's extraordinary? One
3:54
of the people I met recently was at an event at the LSE where they were announcing the ScaleUp concierge service.
4:03
And her name was Katie King, and she's the founder and CEO of a company called BioOrbit, which manufactures... drugs in space.

Do you perceive that there's a genuine ambition gap?
11:12
It's tricky.
11:13
I think when you sit with entrepreneurs and investors in the UK, you definitely don't feel like there's an ambition gap.
11:18
You feel like they're setting their sights very high.
11:22
They want to build globally relevant businesses and They understand what that takes, and they're not pulling out any stops.
11:29
I think what is different, though, is the attitude towards both success and failure, which is a key part of ambition.
11:35
So in the U.S., there's this kind of almost mythology of the American dream.
