It's this cycle of the loneliness economy where, like dating apps, you're lonely so you sign up, but being inside the app and dependent on it makes you even lonelier, so you stay and pay more in exchange for false promises of satisfaction, making you the ideal customer for an evil tech bro and his creation.

But the thing is, there's an inherent loneliness that can be created with AI because as you start using it, when I look back at my uncle, he started using it slowly to write a book, two, three hours.
31:07
And after a while, it completely shifted.
31:09
It was now saying it was sentient and he fully believed it.
31:13
And he was using it like 16 to 18 hours a day, which results in loneliness.
31:19
So for some people, they're not necessarily lonely at the beginning, but throughout the interaction, they're beginning to be more lonely, more lonely, more lonely.
31:26
And then they become more vulnerable to it.

I asked Etienne to explain the term AI delusion or AI-induced psychosis, and he said it's all about sentience, meaning users believe their AI companion has the capacity to experience emotions and sensations like pain, pleasure, joy, and distress.
