So can you give us a corporate politics 101, maybe for software developers, maybe for anybody that's working within corporate? Like, what does corporate politics mean, and can you give us the, the one to three things that you should know about corporate politics so that you stand a chance of playing that game in the right way?

The first thing I would say is most software developers react negatively to the word politics, and I get that.

And I would like to soften that for them and say, hey, politics doesn't have to be nasty or dirty.

It's just a word for human interaction.

It's a word for relationships and negotiation, and it can be that some people conduct that in a dirty or unethical way, but you don't have to do that to still have a better career for yourself and to be armed and defend yourself.

So when I think of politics, I think of that as, how do businesses and people within businesses reconcile different goals and limited resources? So I have a goal to get my product out, you have a goal to get your product out, but we have dependencies together or we step on each other, and you wanna do yours first and be on your schedule, and I wanna do mine first and be on my schedule.

Well, how are we gonna resolve all of that? That process, which can get nasty but doesn't have to, is the expression of politics.

Mm.

others no actually that's not surprising uh you're not the first person i've heard say you know it took me two years before they even thought about putting me into a ring did you start off the hardcore ultra violent type stuff or, and again, everybody else has told me the same thing, because I guess you got to build that foundation before you could build a house.

Yeah.

So the first, like for within the first, maybe year and a half of my training, well, my first time being on shows, I was doing just regular matches.

I'd do like singles matches, tag matches.

It might be like maybe a Falls Count Anywhere match one or two times.

But it's mainly just singles matches.

And then I had that little taste of hardcore when I wrestled Matt Vengeance on an episode of XVW.

We've always, again, been buddies since day one.

And I would be curious if you would explain that to us.

Sure.

So the Magic Loop got its name from the idea it works so well it can be magical.

And, uh, it began, I sort of discovered this in my very first job.

I got a new boss, and she was nice but didn't understand our technology.

I was a young engineer, and I said, "Look, I could teach you about..." And I didn't have any plan.

I just, "Oh, well, if you don't know, I'll teach you." Well, that started a relationship where she saw me as helpful and being on her side, and she took me under her wing, and over the next two years promoted me twice and kind of kickstarted my career.

What is your take on that? Like, what is the culture of Amazon that led to such massive performance?
