How would you describe the recruiting environment in the fire service?

I think career-wise, this subject comes up.

I think the career departments, that means paid firefighters, are doing better.

We are very fortunate here in Indianapolis.

I think that has to do with the men and women of our organization.

I think it has to do with our city.

We'll get 3,000 applicants for 120 jobs.

What in terms of wellness and health initiatives, how important are those to modern firefighting and what are some of the things you're doing in that regard?
