What do you think surprises the clients most about the selection process and the order in which we select?
10:54
Plumbing valves, anything that goes behind the walls needs to be selected as early as possible.

To Anne's point, if there's a change from the architectural drawings, we need to either pull the architects back in, like on a house recently, we decided to put the double ovens in the pantry because the clients aren't big cooks and they have a 60 inch range plus double ovens.

And it was something that didn't need to be forward facing, but the architects had drawn it in the main part of the kitchen.

So because that affects where the gas line goes or where the electrical hookups are, we need to get back in with the architects if we're not in with the architectural drawings early.
11:38
The best thing that we can be in is right away when they start drawing the plans, but that's not always the case.
11:44
Half the time we have people that come to us and they've already have house drawn, but getting anything that goes behind the walls figured out early floor plugs.

But Erin, also though, if you think about luxury, it also can come from craftsmanship or design and finishes more than just paying a lot of money for something.
