So I'd love if you could just start with sharing your story, how you became a lawyer, how you started in your career.
2:10
Yeah.
2:12
So I was not one of those people who like dreamed of being a lawyer when she grew up.
2:18
I didn't have lawyers in my family.
2:20
My dad's an optometrist.
2:21
My mom's a nurse.
2:22
So we didn't have lawyers.

So you're talking about seasons and you know, how life is different seasons and kind of allowing and those seasons to go from one to the next.
17:00
Something needs to change.
17:03
So, I mean, it's interesting how you can look back on things and like at the time, I was convinced that all of these things were happening to me when instead, like I know now that this was all happening for me, right? Like everything was happening for me, but at the time it's hard, it's hard to see, see those things clearly.
17:23
So a number of things in late 08, early 09 happened.
17:27
Things were really, you know, sticky.
17:31
Let's just say anyone who wasn't around during that time, like if you were living under a rock, like go check it out.
17:36
But anyway, so they ended up laying off the entire real estate department.
17:39
Like we were the chicks, like with our banker boxes, like walking outside the law firm that you would see on the news.

I'm really working on exchanging but for and.
1:12
So, um, I guess tell, tell our listeners just a little bit more about yourself and, and what you're up to these days.
1:18
Yeah.
1:18
So like Ruby said, I, um, actually am of counsel, uh, with a law firm.
1:25
I went back to practicing law at the beginning of the year, so that's been like a really exciting thing and something that I've been itching to do under, like, circumstances that made sense for me.
1:35
So that's been really exciting.
1:37
I also, through my journey of leaving big law, leaving my in-house counsel position when I became a mom, oh my gosh, longer than I care to admit ago, um, just about that transition of leaving the law, of kind of relinquishing that identity of like, who am I if I'm not an attorney? What does it look like? What do I actually want? What does it look like if I put all these legal expectations and the expectations of others aside? So I had a, a journey of really kind of discovering who I was in that process after leaving the law when my kids were really little.
2:12
And so then I have turned that into a couple of, you know, opportunities to pour back into lawyers through coaching.

Mm-hmm
