in.Great. And what are some of the specific federal programs that co-ops are leveraging to connect rural America to internet, and how has NRECA Broadband been a partner on that?

Erin DobozyGUEST
Rural electric cooperatives, in many cases, have made the commitment to serve their members and communities where no other internet service providers would.

Erin DobozyGUEST
And the federal government has been a partner in this work throughout various broadband funding programs.

Erin DobozyGUEST
And so the first couple that our members really took part in and took advantage of were the universal service funds, Connect America Fund Phase 2, and Rural Digital Opportunity Fund programs.

Erin DobozyGUEST
And these two programs were the catalyst for most electric cooperatives' start in the broadband business.

Erin DobozyGUEST
And so we know that a total of 217 of our members secured $1.75 billion in funding through both of those programs, so it was a huge kickstart for providing broadband service in some of these unserved and underserved locations.

Molly ChristianHOST
But we know we've encountered some delays and rule changes with BEAD, so talk about our advocacy there and what we'd like to see for this program.
