So how are you tackling these cases?
17:18
Yeah, I feel like this is the space where I live.
17:21
These horses present for that exactly what you're describing, this vague, poor performance.
17:28
The first question, I think, and it maybe doesn't come to mind as often as it should, but I think we have to recognize that not all human beings athletes go to the mba right like there is a limit to what a horse's natural ability is and i think i might be too slow to have that enter my mind because we're all like type a driven on wanting an answer right like that's why they're there you want this horse to be able to perform at its utmost ability.
17:59
You want that for the rider.
18:00
You want it for the whole team.
18:03
So I do think that there is, it's a hard conversation, but it's something that I need to get better about asking myself, have we asked more of the horse and is it physically capable of doing these things that we are asking it to do? But before we get to the point of saying, you know what, I think that this really is, we've maxed out this level, then it gets more directly at your question, which is how do we work through that? I am surprised at how often it is still coming from something musculoskeletal.

So talk to me briefly about why podiatry and hoof care and farriery are such key pieces to that puzzle and how riders can kind of use that intersection between their veterinarian and their farrier to make sure they're finding success there and that that piece of the puzzle you can be confident is taken care of.
