Erika, before we get into the list, let's talk about that one mistake you see investors make even when the ETF itself is working exactly as it's designed.
7:53
One thing I see time and time again is that investors tend to gravitate towards performance, right? And they tend to double down on what's been doing really well and what's been working.
8:06
And, you know, I think it's really important reminders that, you know, what was last year's top performing ETF is not necessarily going to be the winner again this year.
8:16
So market leadership can and does change.
8:20
I just wanted to share a couple of examples because over the last decade, of course, it's been U.S. equities that have dominated returns.
8:28
if you look at last year actually canadian equities finished on top right and then if we look at decade prior to this most recent decade it was actually emerging market equities that were the top performing asset class and if we go back even further the us equity market had what we refer to now as its lost decade after the tech bubble and then you know with the great financial crisis in there as well so I think it's important to remember to be diversified rather than putting all your eggs in one basket and rather than just saying, okay, well, this has been working really well, so I'm going to add to it.
9:01
I think, you know, we don't know what is going to be the best performing area in the market in any given year.

So Erica, let's talk about the fourth investment mistake you see investors make.
