Eric, tell us about kind of going from the super tech, you know, moving into an owner role and kind of what mindset shift you had to do, the things you had to change about how you thought about the business and how important is it to change your mindset?
2:50
It's huge because it's a form of paralysis, right? You get stuck in, I have to do this.
2:56
I have to fix these problems.
2:57
I have to take care of all this.
2:58
And then it becomes, I have to take care of all these customers.
3:00
And then the customer base grows.
3:02
Like I said, it's a form of paralysis where you can't get out of your technician zone, step out of that.

Can you Tell everybody what that was and what impact that had on you.
3:32
How did you end up in this role and kind of what shaped the way you think about building software?
3:38
Yeah, so I went to school actually for construction.
3:43
I got my bachelor's in construction management at Cal Poly SLO.
3:48
So I studied construction and I was fully expecting to go construction.
3:51
into the gc industry and um you know be a builder and out of cal poly started working in the field for a little bit and found better fit in the estimating role was there for a little while but they've always been my people but i wanted to make an impact in a different way and not not just bidding work not just pricing that but like actually tangibly like something grander than that so Technology has always been a means to achieve high impact.
4:20
And that's where I started to look.
4:21
So I started to look at how do I get into tech? And the jump from I'm an estimator to I want to be in tech is one that a lot of recruiters don't understand.
