Mm-hmm
5:30
... uh, we put together two, uh, big pharma, uh, partnerships, one with Pfizer, one with Novartis.
5:36
They both had drugs in clinical trials that had a, a QT prolongation, right, or a prolongation between heartbeats.
5:43
And what they wanted to know was not just was our device clinically viable, but did people like to use it enough? Would they adopt it and keep it and use it throughout the trial so that it did not, uh, put their very expensive clinical trial at risk because people did not like to use it? Right? And so that is not even just a nice-to-have in healthcare sometimes.
6:04
There's huge opportunities if you can show that things are compelling to use, they actually change behavior, they get longitudinal patient data over time, uh, allow for the remote practice of medicine, and these clin- you know, speeding up these c- uh, clinical trials and keeping costs down.
6:21
Um, so really exciting area, yeah.
9:25
Mm-hmm
9:25
... it's extremely dangerous, and that's where all the lawsuits currently are, especially, like, in mental health.
29:36
Mm.
29:36
Uh, and I've always wondered about that, like why are bureaucracies waste all these good ideas? And the trade-off is vast organizational stability, right? Uh, and so that's, you know, that's why you'll, you'll see that.
29:47
And so sometimes I've, I've been surprised, but I've been in full-time roles where I've been paid for activity that produced no results and that seemed, you know...
29:55
Anyway, so, you know, I think that, that, that's just another, uh, kind of, uh, aspect to it.
30:02
Um, so another thing that's interesting is I don't really differentiate too much, and I realize most people don't think this way, but now I don't differentiate too much between a conversation with somebody that might be, you know, contract work, uh, you know, might be a full-time role.
30:20
To me, those are really just different ways things are structured.
30:22
And, uh, and even now, like with the, with the, you know, the economy and, and, and after the great resignation, right? I think that these layoffs are, are, they're, they're kind of a, a new feature, uh, right? To, so they, th- these rolling layoffs are gonna keep on going to keep people a bit scared, keep people doing a bit of a job and a half, right? And so the tenure of most of these jobs is gonna be like three to five years.

I wanna go get XYZ AI certificates or something." And I'm not sure that you should hold on applying until you have that experience, but what, what's your take on what skills UX people should be, um, learning regarding AI and even specific to user research if you wanna get that deep?
