Just kinda give us an insight into what you're thinking there.
7:21
Well, yeah, I mean, it's, uh, my whole writing series really looks at those parallels between things that happen at a clinical, physiologic level, scientific level, and seeing things that are aligned with s- Scripture and, and with, uh, an embodied walk with God.
7:35
And this is one that is, is definitely fun to talk about.
7:38
It's this notion that there's a couple different ways that we respond to, to challenges.
7:43
Um, people are mostly aware of the kind of fight or flight response, what we call the sympathetic nervous system, the sympathetic autonomic response, which governs a lot of, of processes in our body.
7:54
Um, but there's subsets to that, what was often called the threat response versus the, the challenge response.
7:59
And the, uh, the, the inherent driver between these two things, and in a very real physiologic way is, is, is a belief or, or, or the acceptance, uh, that, uh, the-- either on the threat side, that the resources that are available to you are outweighed by the demands of the situation, um, versus the, the, the, uh, vice versa, where the-- in the, in the challenge response, the, um, your resources outweigh the demands.

How do you stop or can you stop that automated threat response from happening when you don't get that false need?
