uh this the smell you will never i've never forgotten the smell it's a it's a metallic acrid metal it's like you eat metal or eat tin go get some tinfoil reynolds tinfoil and start eating it that hits your feelings yeah it's oh god it was tasted there it was just mentally tasting that bitter smell uh will always stay with me the dust was overwhelming uh we were not prepared uh we came down we didn't you don't know you wouldn't we were it was it was a horror i'd covered war i've been in war zones active war zones uh and this was a war zone It was an overwhelming, unfathomable horror that those gleaming, gorgeous two towers had been erased and crumbled to the ground in this hellscape of fire and dust and death.
Eric ShawnGUEST
But at the same time, over those first few days, and I reflect on it a lot when I'm here, you couldn't wrap your brain around the fact that there really were no survivors, no one, except for those who were under the survivor staircase, a small group, were able to come out.
Eric ShawnGUEST
For the first few days, the construction workers and firefighters and police officers, they'd come out and they'd say, oh, they found three people here, or they just found some people.

Eric ShawnGUEST
So we went to the Eisenhower Library and Museum in Abilene, Kansas, and they have all the records of the Eisenhower administration.
Eric ShawnGUEST
And they said, when I asked, "Well, what, what's the rules? What were the guidelines?" And they said there weren't any.
Eric ShawnGUEST
They had to make it up 'cause the only a- a- a- at, uh, the only guidelines are what I just said.
Brian KilmeadeHOST
So would you say up until the '50s is when they stopped adding stripes when a state was added?

Eric ShawnGUEST
1890, that was really one of the first families of the, the Italian American, uh, immigrants that came in, and the Black Hand was the beginning of the mafia in New Orleans.
Eric ShawnGUEST
It was the Provo- Provenzanos versus the Matrangas, and they killed the police chief, and there was a uprising by the citizens of New Orleans against the mafia and a mass lynching.
Eric ShawnGUEST
11 Italians were, were lynched, and that started the mafia rule of don't kill law enforcement.

8:21Eric ShawnGUEST
Uh, the preponderance of evidence shows that Jimmy Hoffa showed up at the parking lot of the Machus Red Fox, was, uh, picked up in a car, got into this, uh, maroon Mercury, probably, uh, it was being driven by a Detroit mobster named Anthony Tony Pal- Palazzolo, the evidence seems to show.

Eric ShawnGUEST
And they have been lobbing ballistic missiles at us, at our US Navy assets, and th- what makes them so lethal, actually, I think beyond Al-Qaeda and the Taliban now, is you have a small strait in the Red Sea called the Bab-el-Mandeb.
Eric ShawnGUEST
One-quarter of all global transportation, cargo, ships, oil, goes through that little strait, and they've been firing ballistic missiles at these tankers and at these cargo ships and that has strangled global trade.
