It's really good.

So my lab has this ongoing interest in manipulating and engineering and using hepatic transporters, which we call OATPs, organic anion transporting polypeptides.
6:38
And we want to use these paired with their imageable substrates as a molecular imaging reporter paradigm.

You could think of it like the MRI version of like luciferase and luciferin.
6:52
We didn't invent this technique.

It was first published by Kevin Brindle.

John Ronald has done a lot of work in Canada, and a lot of people have demonstrated that this system can be used for cell tracking.

What do you find about the process? Why do you keep coming back to us with such impactful papers?

So tell us, what was the origin of the idea? How did this come to be?
4:30
Well, so I was at University of Michigan as a student, and I worked in one of the LISA labs as a LISA lab monitor.
4:39
And I didn't, you know, I liked the leases.
4:41
I didn't love them.
4:42
They had some issues, but then the next year we got Macintoshes instead.
4:48
And, you know, I instantly loved the Macintoshes.
4:53
And one of the things when I was a lab monitor over the summertime, we could sit in the lab for like three, four hours and nobody would come in because we were like in the middle of nowhere on campus.
