do

it.
9:22
That's why we do it.
9:23
And, you know, it does work.
9:25
We have less foreclosures of owner-occupied homes in the last few years.
9:30
And we had this year half the properties that got foreclosed were vacant lots, which is good.
9:35
That's a good thing.
11:34
How does that work?
90:34
For listeners who may not fully understand what, you know, standard, what, what does the Wayne County treasurer actually do day to day? And why is that role so critical in people's lives?
90:44
Well, what we do, we collect delinquent taxes for, um, when the community don't collect their taxes, um, summer and winter taxes, they turn them over to the County treasurer on March 1st of every year.
90:56
And we, what we do, we borrow money, give them the, um, 100% of the money is as though they collected everything.
91:04
And this program is unique to Michigan.
91:07
We just funded them last Friday for this year, for last year's delinquent taxes that we took.
91:13
Then we go out and collect the debt from everyone.
91:16
So we just funded the communities so they don't have any interruption in their services.
93:35
Oh,
