How has it been for you now that it's been out a while and people have been able to hear what your work is all about in this album?
21:17
I think it's been really special because this album is vast in emotions and transparency.
21:25
So sure, there's a song like Sweeter Than You that's done very well.
21:28
It's number one on Heart and Soul and it's done very well on radio.
21:32
And that might be a song about my wife or relationships, but there's a song like Fight Through It All, which kind of talks about me trying to keep my mental health and and keep my spirits up when, you know, if I just say it openly, my dad had gotten sick over the last couple of years and while trying to care for him as well as care for the kids, um, it was some heavy days, you know, and I'm thankful that, You know, I can sit down and sometimes write a song that I just need that night, right, to get me through peace.
22:03
So you have people that come up and they might be celebrating a song like Sweeter Than You, but they might also celebrate a song like Believe In Me or Fight Through It All that's kind of helping these different sides of it.
22:13
So the album has been received probably exactly how I want The replies come from all over the place because that's kind of how I wanted it to be.
26:02
What is soul music to Eric Roberson?
5:16
and your journey from raway to college to to being in this road it's been a long journey of you picking up how has your foundation your roots of being from that kid who learned music in raway and go to school in raway high school and then go to college how how do you look back at that and what do you think of this journey how crazy it's been
5:37
It's been an honor, first.
5:38
And I love the fact that, first, I love Jersey, as you already know.
5:41
I still live in New Jersey.
5:43
And, you know, one of the great things is that growing up here, I saw the birth of hip-hop right across the bridge.
5:51
My friend's older brothers were coming home with this music.
5:55
I still remember this day like it was yesterday.
