What is about the highlight in your journey to this award?
22:22
Thinking back to my time with the ANA, there was a moment that really codified how beneficial it was.
22:31
I was participating in one of the NINDS K Awards symposiums, and I was at that time thinking about pivoting my research to this new type of research about torpor and how it may be neuroprotective.
22:46
So I presented this proposal and I sat there in a room with senior faculty that had been studying ischemic stroke.
22:56
They gave me incredible feedback and taught me how to write aims.
23:00
If I hadn't had that feedback here at the ANA, I would have really struggled to take to the next step.
23:06
And as a result, I was able to turn this into a fantastic grant and get this R01 on my very first try.

So how has the ANA impacted your research and career beyond this award?
