You're saying, look, man, that wasn't really the whole picture of what was being discussed.

Yeah, so to try to explain it, you know, and when I heard your comments, they sounded a little more futuristic as if we were trying to do more incentives along that line.

And, you know, I think you were right with that comment, right? You know, with this 3% cap, the city's got to be really selective on those types of things.

And I think you'll see over the coming years, we'll do fewer and fewer of them, to be honest with you.

This is much more backwards looking.

So...

If you look at all the incentives given out, let's say, over the last 10, 12, 15 years, some of them we're still paying for that go back a decade, right? Maybe it was a 10- or 15-year incentive where for that period of time, the city's kind of short tax revenue for that specific property, right? And so if you add up all of those incentives, it's a considerable amount of money and upwards of probably around three-quarters of a million dollars for 2027.

Yeah.

Is there something you're saying, hey, we're missing this in West Fargo that I should really try to get to attract here?

Well, you know, I'll come at it from two perspectives.

One, you know, I want to bring more business to West Fargo.

So, you know, it's not so much in terms of how I think about it, at least as of right now, you know, a specific industry.

I will say, and this kind of jumps maybe to a slightly different topic, you know, one of the first things I'm going to bring up in one of our meetings in July is, and I'm not saying this because I know of anything, right, but I watch what's happening around our state and around the nation, honestly, around data centers.

And, you know, the problem with that is communities aren't prepared.

They haven't had the conversation in advance as to whether that's something they're open for or not.

We never heard anything until that release came out.
