So to start off the conversation, what do you make of the suit?
1:57
Well, I think this suit is just the evolution of a series of suits that have been brought against OpenAI and other foundational LLM developers around product design and whether they have the right safeguards in place to prevent harm.
2:10
What's interesting about this case is that it adds in more of the information that was the output of the LLM to include highly personalized medical advice that was given to the user.
2:22
that included such things as commentary on prescriptions and courses of treatments.
2:28
These are things that you would think would be coming not from a chatbot, but from a licensed professional.
2:32
So by adding in this idea of the LLM practicing medicine in this suit, you're seeing a new flavor of lawsuits kind of merging products liability with practice of medicine.
2:47
What legal risks generally does a company open itself up to when it has a product that starts espousing medical advice and that product is not a doctor?
2:58
So there's sort of two flavors here.
7:36
Eric, what has changed for you in terms of doing this work? When you started your training, how different is it now from the type of work that you were either doing or anticipated doing when you started your training?
7:47
Sure.
7:48
So there's a couple of different dimensions to that.
7:50
You know, starting training in a university setting, I was at Auburn and then I stayed on for faculty there.
7:55
It's a much more diverse role when you're in a university.
7:57
Part of what you're doing is reading cytology and hematology slides, but you're also teaching.
8:01
You may be doing research.

What does that look like? What has happened? Just leave me on a happy note of what happens if this is great? What happens if this really goes well from here?
