Can you explain what the county board does and the responsibilities as chairmen?

Yes, so our county board consists of 21 members, and they are all elected on an offset schedule of years.

Half of them will be in this election, half of them will be in the next election, so that not everybody comes up for election at the same time.

So we have 21 members.

We meet once a month to have a full board meeting, and then all the members are divided up, with different responsibilities, and everybody has two subcommittee assignments.

So we basically, I mean, in the big picture, we conduct the business of the county in lots of different aspects, from, say, the Sheriff's Department to the Highway Department to the Health Department to the Elms to, you know, several buildings and properties that we keep track of, along with the courthouse.

So yes, every month we conduct business and we take care of everything that's brought in front of us.
