7:10
Because a lot of those players are, they're still reliant on the core of guys who are now in their 30s.
7:16
Yeah, it's...
7:18
I think regarding getting the joy, you'll always get more joy out of winning anything if it's closer.
7:23
If they had won it by 10, 12 points with a few games to go, it's inevitable.
7:28
You know that with 10 games to go because we'd have been so far ahead.
7:31
The fact that they teased us a little bit for a few weeks when they had that wobble after Europe And probably helped the kind of narrative around the league that we had this league title.
7:41
I don't think like, like for me anyway, I never really had a doubt that they'd let it go.

9 MINS LATER

16:32
yeah it's funny because like i think they're going to lose keen levy it seems that seems to be the you know the the mood music around that seems to be quite likely that he's going to move on obviously sheridan did very well but again like you know he's gonna you'd assume midway through next season when he turns 18 you got to imagine he's going to be um on the way so I don't know daughter how you feel about Patsy obviously as we've mentioned you spent a bit of time there um I don't know do you have a feeling on on where where they are at because yeah you look at that defense and that's strong but again like I mean again more speculation around players in the front end of the pitch or an Aidan Keener situation again I was in that it was the sun the other day um I don't know Stephen Kenny like is he where's he at you know Derry still having a point with their manager? Are they going to be looking at other clubs in the league or not? I don't know how I feel about the whole Pat thing.
3:45
It is not looking good for Michael Carrick right now, Eoin.
3:47
[clears throat] No. Um, yeah, it's really hard to see, if they don't do something here in the next half an hour, him being in the job too much longer.
3:58
Um, and, like, from what I've seen of the game, we've seen the last 15 minutes of the first half and obviously a little bit to the second half here.
4:06
And, and to be fair, right now, the 3-0 down is starting to show a little bit more intent, but with that Como could've had at least two or three more in that first half.
4:13
They were being opened up completely.
4:15
Um, Dalot just ...
4:18
I, I've, I'd have an awful, um, I wouldn't have much faith in, in Dalot at all.

15 MINS LATER

18:58
It's Jacobo who's actually scored the goal.
2:16
And then Gravenberg gets himself sent off and that changed the game.
2:19
Yeah, it absolutely did.
2:20
Obviously, the introduction of Docky as well was instrumental down that left side.
2:24
They put some men out, switched some men out onto the right side then.
2:28
And Docky just ran amok.
2:29
He just ran amok for about a 10-12 minute spell.
2:32
Liverpool couldn't handle him.
6:51
This could be a bad, bad kind of few weeks for Liverpool if he can't get some of those players back fit.
21:25
Yeah what do you make of this Owen could we get a full time Republic of Ireland player Seamus Coleman into the team?
21:31
Yeah, look, I think obviously he was instrumental in his performances, especially in that last campaign.
21:37
I think there was obviously videos coming out after the matches and Eimear Hallgrímsson kind of explaining to the lads his importance and how valuable he is to the group.
21:47
It's interesting that, to be fair to Seamus, what a fella he is in the sense of he hasn't held a grudge against them because he left them out of the first camp in the qualifiers.
21:56
He comes back in, plays out of his skin And then it's his words that kind of have persuaded him to kind of potentially carry on with his career.
22:04
He's 38 years of age.
22:05
I think we were born the same year.
23:08
Probably enough to get you inserted straight into the starting 11.
Tommy Rooney
Tommy RooneyCORRESPONDENT
14:56
But I think we're just going to have to wait and hear what the other side have to say.
14:59
Tommy, is there much detail on basically the, not so much the infrastructure, but how things will be delivered on decision makers? Because kind of listening to her comments in the interview there, she's kind of, to me, it seems like she's kind of questioning that the GOA don't want to give away any power at all.
15:17
And whether that's having to bring in a gender quota, for example, within decision makers at the top when they all integrate, which...
15:25
in reality before you integrate anything the people that are making the decisions has to be something that's kind of laid out first.
15:32
Yeah,
10:25
Eoin, I believe your school varies, uh, depending on the number of j- um, children to teacher ratio.
10:32
Yeah.
10:33
Um, so we're a DES 2, uh, school, which means we don't get the DES ratios regards, um, teacher-pupil ratio.
10:40
So how our school generally operates is it's roughly 20 to one or 19 to one up as far as second class, and then it moves to 28 to 30 to one from third to sixth class on.
10:52
Now, you could spread that over the whole course of the school and leave it at 24 to one.
10:57
There's pluses and minuses to that.
10:58
You'd have split grade classes at different levels.
11:42
Moving out
John DugganSOUNDBITE_SPEAKER
3:20
Yeah
3:20
... would go through.
3:21
Um, and I know, like, um, when all, when all these things come around, like nostalgia kicks in and, "Oh, please don't change thing- things.
3:29
Please don't change things." But you'll never complain when you have, when you see all that color, and you have all the nations coming out together, and all the fans, and the, the stories, and the craic they're all having in between the matches and stuff, and on the way to the games, and the noise being created.
3:42
Um, I don't really see anything negative about that at all.
3:46
Um, you obviously want the team, the whole competition to be competitive, so you don't want to see 6-0s, 7-0s.
3:53
There are a few teams in there that are gonna be like that, but yet, um, to me, bigger picture thinking here, I think it is a positive thing.
7:28
[laughs]
18:50
Yeah.
18:51
Um, really surprised with that, but, uh, um, Tuchel's his own man.
18:55
He certainly is anyway with his decisions, and you kinda have to applaud him for that.
18:59
Um, but again, their attacking threat is wonderful.
19:01
Now, like, Kane's goal from the corner, like, what, in what world do you leave Harry Kane unmarked in the box? Like, that should not, never, ever, ever happen.
19:13
Like, of the, all the players to leave unmarked, don't leave him unmarked.
19:16
Um, a great finish from him and all, but he had a free run at the ball to get a, a good header at, at towards goal, and obviously he finishes it excellently.

18 MINS LATER

37:32
Is that 'cause Cody Gakpo was playing?
18:20
Yeah
18:21
Um, really surprised with that, but, um, Tuchel's his own man.
18:25
He certainly is anyway with his decisions, and you kinda have to applaud him for that.
18:29
Um, but again, their attacking threat is wonderful.
18:31
Now, like Kane's goal from the corner, like what, in what world do you leave Harry Kane unmarked in the box? Like, that should not, never, ever, ever happen.
18:43
Like, of all the players to leave unmarked, don't leave him unmarked.
18:46
Um, a great finish from him and all, but he had a free run at the ball to get a, a good header at, uh, towards goal, and obviously he finishes it excellently.

18 MINS LATER

37:02
Is that 'cause it's Cody Gakpo I was playing?
1:25
Mm
1:25
... from, from set pieces.
1:26
And obviously it was this, uh, saying this through the commentary, like it, it has been the season of the set piece, and that's where Pelinha comes up at the, with the back stick, is a great ball in from Tell towards that back post.
1:36
And obviously he just heads it off the, off the post, comes back out to him.
1:39
It's, it looks, it's coming at him so fast, looks like it's nearly behind him as he hits it in with his left foot and just kinda goes over the line before Barry's able to clear it.
1:47
Um, yeah, and they were, and, like, to be fair, they were the better team in the first half.
1:51
Yeah.
1:51
They showed more intent.
10:09
Yeah, even in the context of last Saturday, he was the only person in that Arsenal team who was giving them... any bit of sort of any point of difference at all any bit of go for a ball quite often that was just him taking the ball and dribbling
10:22
yeah he'd just he'd have a go yeah it's very disappointing like it's they're they're just lacking any creativity or kind of like want to just go out and grab it you know it's like let's just please not get beat here and more often than not when you have that attitude going into matches you're just opening yourself up for to be beat and that from looking at it from the outside in it looks like that and like the Arsenal fans as well are a bit of a disgrace because at no moment through the whole game did they start a chant or do anything really it was like watching a testimonial at times with the atmosphere there they're as nervous as the players on the pitch but the players are transmitting that right but if you're nine points clear of the Premier League and you're at the business end they should be singing from the minute that if you're nine points clear at the top of the Premier League you should be taking the game to Bournemouth yeah I don't disagree with that but you should be singing from minute one But they're not.
11:20
They should be, the minute that the ref loves to whistle, they should be in party mode.
11:24
But they're not.
11:25
The Arsenal fans aren't doing
13:19
Like the fans are in part spectators and the thing that they spectated was... was a situation where Bournemouth came to the Emirates and took the game to the team who were nine points clear at the top of the Premier League that's a pretty nerve-wracking situation to be in that's a pretty shell-shocking situation to be in
13:38
um They haven't had a better chance than this in a very, very long time to win the league.
13:48
They still have a really, really strong chance of doing it.
15:35
And it just feels crazy that they'd have a greater sense of freedom as opposed to playing at home versus Crystal Palace last Thursday.
15:41
Virts that came off there for Gakpo sorry but now I think that's a major they're just under severe severe pressure I would never be one for saying something like this but I actually think Tottenham have to get rid of him now because like you bring him in for the manager bounce and then you've got three games you've three games and nothing has changed It's important.
16:04
And the only thing in their control now, they don't even have a transfer window right before the end of the season, is they can change the manager and try to do something different.
16:12
And you kind of look at how their big players are treating them.
16:14
You're looking at the facials and body language, especially their bigger players like Van de Veen and Romero who look like they want doubt.
16:22
Very, very harsh, but...
16:25
I can't see them getting past Atletico obviously just defensively they're so so strong always and I know they got Richarlison and all back in the team now the last couple of weeks and stuff but he's still not their best attacking threat and Tottenham's injuries are top heavy on the pitch loads of their attacking players are out They have been for a considerable time.

8 MINS LATER

25:11
Look, I'm not a big
2:22
a couple of days ago and then on the football show from 9 to 10 we'll be keeping an eye on all tonight's Champions League action and of course Wolves versus Arsenal in the Premier League tonight in the company of Owen Doyle our number is 0879 180 180 if you want to send us a WhatsApp message Cameron Hill is back hello Cameron hello Owen Owen Doyle is the other Owen hello Owen are you Owen you were your ears were burning I'd say last night or they would have been if you were paying any sort of attention to the news round you would have been kind of reeling from our pancake discussion You've been describing off air about how you're an expert at creating pancakes and making pancakes, as some people say, and, you know, actually creating a high art form when it comes to these.
3:04
yeah about 18 months ago I bought a griddle yes out the back not a barbecue but a griddle so I don't know what that is it's basically a giant frying pan and how's that been going for you? amazing so I could do about 20 pancakes in one go so there's none of this like do one one of the kids has it you have to pick which is your favourite kid to give it to first none of that carry on I just I can lash out like 20 at a go and just get them onto the table and let the carnage begin how do you control the batter? Does it not just all join up? No, so I have a couple of stencils.
3:37
Ah, perfect, right.
3:38
Actually, when I was in America, I was in Orlando, I think it was last year or the year before with the kids, and went to Walmart because I knew it was the only place I could get these stencils to bring them home.
3:50
And yeah, went and got them.
3:52
Did you go over especially for that? I did.
3:56
no was the answer to that we've done the whole Disneyland thing but there was a strong intention in my mind I wasn't coming home without them stands
8:16
So the club is obviously owned by Americans, and maybe you could probably look to that as, I don't know, whatever their reasons are for... kind of challenging her position on the board so Travella it's part of a multi-club operation involving a few other clubs as well so kind of making a lightning round for their own back with this the club you'd have to say by drawing attention to then there's a bit of a a strident effect potentially about the ownership group and who actually runs this club when they do something like this
4:59
But once that World Cup is out of the way, this is going to be right back in the view for the FAI and the calls for boycotts are not going to stop.
5:08
a very temporary pause I assume literally just for the 90 minutes of the game it's such a heated topic especially in Ireland and like obviously the FEI from they obviously feel very backed into a corner here I assume and like from an administrative point saying they're going to fulfil the fixture I don't understand it when sanctions and that's their role to look after the game in Ireland and stuff my view on it would be slightly different I think this is a great opportunity for Ireland to stand on the right side of history over 40,000 women and children killed by the IDF in Israel, over 450 footballers, many of them children, have been killed.
5:42
And the greater scheme of things, sporting sanctions are temporary, but the loss of all these lives are permanent.
5:48
I think it's a really, really good opportunity for Ireland in particular to stand up here and boycott this.
5:53
I'd be for a boycott.
5:54
I understand the FAO's approach to this.
5:59
It's putting an awful lot of people in a really uncomfortable position.
6:45
Euro 2028
5:23
It's a great setup, but I don't see any reason why... top two or three League of Ireland teams can't aspire to get into the league phase now I know last year was a bit novel having two of them but there's no reason two of them can't get into the Conference League I
5:34
think when I first moved back probably three or four years ago now I remember thinking to myself Jesus within the next decade we'll have two teams playing in Europe all the time you know I did not expect it to happen so soon And I think obviously Shelburne getting into the Champions route and then Shamrock Rovers just exceeding expectations but because of the groundwork they've done over the years and getting their ranking so high up but then to basically get that big win against Santa Clara using all their European experience.
6:03
to get over the line incredible incredible and to watch the two of them going at it like and I know when they got there they probably didn't go as far as everyone would have liked but still what an achievement for the two Irish clubs and like they're all looking around you know you can see the likes of Derry spending very big to try and get back Shelburne recruiting again you think Sean McRover's going to start bringing in more buddies you'd assume so like they're all looking at this now and going this is this is something worth fighting for.
7:13
Have Sligo Rovers not sold him for way too cheap? No.
7:17
listen we obviously want all these million million euro players going all the time and listen I've no doubts Elding was on the way to getting there but if there isn't multiple clubs coming in for you or for the player then it's hard for the Leicester Slugout to keep pushing the boat I think 400 grand is a great fee for a community club run by fans You have to realise what they go through down there to try and raise funds and someone slaps 400 grand in front of you.
7:47
It's really hard to not accept.
7:50
Now don't get me wrong, we'd all love that.
7:54
the number of clubs that it came in from.
2:45
Any surprises there? Yeah.
2:47
I wasn't sure how it was all going to play out regarding him being away with the AFCON.
2:52
It went very quiet.
2:53
We heard nothing regarding Mo Salah and his future while he was over there.
2:58
And before he went, and obviously...
3:01
even after he came on against Brighton and got his round of applause and he'd done well for the 60 odd minutes or whatever when he came on the first half I was of the belief that he had played his last game for Liverpool I thought that there was a potentially this was the moment where he'd potentially want to get out and Liverpool would really want to try cashing in on him while he still has a high value that's not the case he's back into the starting 11 tonight let's just hope he gets back to the old form well I hope he gets back to the old form of

21 MINS LATER

24:14
And maybe when it comes to Super Valley Park Equive, it's more... personal opinion being aired when this was a topic of conversation but no it is quite you can hear that tone it's quite striking and how blunt he is and no this isn't going to be something that we engage in I
24:26
think Eddie Hearns would probably ring up the NFL and get a copy of their economic impact book or even just copy paste it stick Katie's name across the top of it and let's go in and back a national treasure because there's loads of talk regarding women's participation in sport retention of women in sport and I'd argue that no one has done more for women's retention in sport and will do for the remaining decades potentially than Katie Taylor she's one of our greatest ever athletes and she's a female and if you're going to back anyone back her is what I'd be saying And I'd have zero doubts as well that Katie Taylor, an ending to Katie Taylor's career in Crowe Park would be a sellout as well.
10:57
What do you make of
10:59
that? I know John Perry.
11:00
I'm a very close friend of his.
11:03
What I do know of him, I wouldn't be coming on here saying any bad words about him, but he's definitely a really, really capable and talented fella and he knows his stuff.
11:12
I don't think he said that on there.
11:13
That's probably something that we haven't really heard.
11:16
We all know the infrastructure for football in the country has to be better.

in the budget for LOI academies but there needs to be a whole lot more because there's going to be however many clubs who aren't served by those academy funding and the facilities need to be there for players to feel that they can progress and actually enjoy sport and not necessarily go on to a professional or elite pathway but can keep it up right the way through the underage system.
