I would love to get your take on how you think about Netflix right now.
13:41
Yeah, I mean, I think the dominance of Netflix is absolutely clear.
13:45
I think you could break it down a couple of different ways.
13:48
You talked about the production spend, but the way I really like to focus on what Netflix changed, because I think people miss this, is that they do generate gobs of revenue and a lot compared to the traditional studios in particular, which is who they most often get compared.
14:03
So when you look and profitability, which they've managed to achieve and hitting free cashflow, which for years when I was a Netflix bear and more skeptical, I really pointed to the free cashflow number because if that didn't change, they weren't ever gonna be able to keep funding this debt.
14:23
And it's interesting to look at how it changed and how that compares to the traditional studios.
14:27
Cause I think this point sometimes gets missed.
19:08
Where is Netflix in terms of domination on the content side and who do you see as sort of up and coming as a sort of next on the list of some of the, maybe not winning like Netflix, but at least have a shot at competing with them on the streaming? Actually,
13:54
Like you, you can't even compare that Lord of the Rings is a worldwide brand that had billion dollar grossing movies and a, and 50, 70 years of love for the book.
14:04
And so it coming out and making the top 10 list, and I don't even know if it made the top 10 list the whole time, 'cause I sometimes ask Nielsen to get the weekly data.
14:15
Only made the top 10 list I think two times, and I think I got data for like a third week.
14:20
So when you talk about a miss, it just... man, no one is even talking about it.
14:26
Its awareness, I could look up its IMDb, but I'm sure it re- it might do okay, but compared to shows in its range, it's just such an expensive expenditure.
14:35
And I admire like trying to do it, but when you talk about secret misses, just because people don't even remember that show at this point.

Yeah.
