so a few things I wanted to talk about this is the first two parter that we've had in TNG because Encounter at Farpoint was never intended to be split into two parts it got broadcast as two parts later on but it was always written as one thing so this is the first two parter in TNG it's the first two parter in all of Star Trek is in the original series and it's the menagerie and it's because they're cutting up that feature length pilot um But what I was going to say is there's a lot of stuff I love in this episode.
