Erin WickhamHOST
So Emma, do you wanna share what was some of the early research, um, what the two types of mindsets are, um, and kinda just give us the high-level overview of a growth mindset and its history?

Emma SarroGUEST
history?Yeah, I mean, so this is definitely not a new concept, right? People have been studying this, this idea, um, in different settings for a long time, for years.

Emma SarroGUEST
And initially, the way that it was talked about and discussed was really this difference between what people thought of as an entity mindset versus an incremental one, where incremental one is this underlying belief that, um, we can change over time, skills, abilities, our brain, our bodies, just this general mindset that we're not the same yesterday as we are today, and that the, the world changes us.

Emma SarroGUEST
And that eventually evolved to, um, the fixed versus growth mindset, where the entity mindset was more of a fixed mindset.

Emma SarroGUEST
Uh, fixed mindset, you really are born with these skills, and you really can't improve.
