Thinking about your career, um, what is one myth that you've kind of been hearing over and over and now you know for it not to be 100% true? What about you, Emma?

So I think the big myth, and the one that really, really annoyed me when I got pregnant, was people saying to me that I should have applied for partnership first, or I should have waited and delayed getting pregnant until I achieved partnership.

So lots of well-meaning people when I became pregnant at 29 were telling me that, "Oh gosh, you know, we really thought you were partner material.

What a shame." And it was that myth that, you know, women aren't ambitious or that they can't progress when they have young children.

I mean, obviously I'm going back sort of 15, 16 years in my example because my children are both teenagers now.

But I was really annoyed at the time and I thought, I, I don't wanna plan, you know, my- when I have children around whether when I'm gonna make partner and, and why should that affect me being promoted? Um, so it's that feeling that there's a lack of ambition in people who have children or who want to return to work.
