emma mallison's has done a lot of pro bono work for act for kids over the years from your experience what role can pro bono play in helping children and families participate meaningfully in decisions that affect their lives and particularly in systems that can feel really complex and intimidating and as you've just said where regulation can sometimes conflict with kind of what those families and young people are asking for
13:49
Yeah, so we do at Mallison's quite a bit of work for different organisations, including Act for Kids around regulations because they change so often.
13:57
So we do have a fairly broad program across the firm as well of doing regulatory updates and reviews because the compliance framework is very high and onerous.
14:08
But I think our lawyers really enjoy doing the pro bono work.
14:11
So in our organisation it is sometimes difficult to find really good meaningful pro bono work to do.
14:17
So Act for Kids and other organisations in which they're delivering services to children seem to be very popular with our lawyers and so they like doing that work.
14:28
It always feels quite rewarding to be able to do something because our specialty as lawyers is so narrow.
