to start like way in the beginning I always like to ask like what was your relationship with music like
3:51
music was always very important to me and a very big part of my personality I um I'm the youngest of five kids and so I think my introduction to it was mostly through my parents playing music a lot in the house, but also I was just constantly in the car, you know, shuttling my other siblings around to their various activities.
4:17
So my mom would play full albums to entertain me and I would was a huge fan of Billy Joel.
4:27
Um, I remember piano man was like my first favorite song.
4:31
Also the wicked soundtrack that was like big for me.
4:35
I was a classic.
4:37
Yeah.

The nostalgia theme, what pulled you into that? What about summer and nostalgia felt like that needs to be the title and that's the concept?

Well, my name is Emily James, and I'm the pastor of ministries here at Sanctus.
0:26
And what that really means is that I get to work with an incredible team and staff of pastors and team members who serve your kids, youth, serve the young adult community, and all of our discipleship and connections ministries like Connect Groups, Alpha, and Guest Services.
0:45
So...
0:46
It's such an honor to be able to share with you.
0:48
We're in our third week of our series, Ordinary Holy.
0:53
And you know, I love the theme of this because really it's an opportunity for each and every one of us to be asking God, God, how can I live? The theme of this, how can I live out your word, your truth, and your purposes in my life, not just on Sunday mornings, but every day, in everything, to everyone.

so mom what do you remember about that
1:42
I remember being terrified because you don't know what a nine-year-old is going to say.
1:45
You also don't know what a 19-year-old is going to say or a 51-year-old.
1:48
So we're here for the ride.
1:49
But I think what I remember most is just the ability to make an immediate impact and being able to talk about a story.
1:56
I think you guys giving people a voice who have been patients and patient families is such a huge opportunity.
2:01
One of the things that's great about our relationship with everybody here, Kristen, Gene, everybody is that It continues to empower Vera versus make the disease something that could have taken from her.
