Can you talk us through the different components of investing, i.e. the different steps that you go through in order to become an investor?
1:37
So when you start investing, first thing, you need to have a plan.
1:41
We talked about this also in the, in the first episode.
1:43
You need to have an emergency fund.
1:45
You don't wanna have a lot of debt that are very costly.
1:48
You have a plan, you know why you're investing, for you're investing for the medium term, for the long term, maybe for, for retirement.
1:54
Once you have your plan, you will need to pick a platform.
4:22
How would you go about building your portfolio step by step, and what does good investing look like in practice?
9:46
Can you just talk me through how we can keep calm when markets feel like they're going a bit crazy?
9:52
So for me, it's about having this plan, first of all, being financially organized, so you have a budget and you know how much money you're putting into your investments every month.
10:02
It's better to automate your investments so you're not deciding every month, "Oh, you know, how much money should I invest this month? How much money should I save? And if you invest money, what funds do I buy this month?" So I automate my investment, which means that every day on payday, a little bit of my pay is going into an investment portfolio, so that removes any decisions for me to pick and choose whatever I wanna buy.
10:25
Now, there's times in a year where you can review, sit down and look at your investments and check that your contributions are invested properly.
10:32
So making sure you take a step back.
10:34
I think it's fine to switch off financial and investing news sometimes.
10:39
So if there's some areas that you're interested in, maybe take the time to research these areas instead of reacting to market fluctuations.
12:12
Yeah, so then women have the sense that they've missed out.
