Um, it...

Where, where do we start with Rovers and Venky's? Um, well, the last fif- obviously the 15-year tenure's been an absolute disaster really.

Um, Blackburn obviously is a club that won the Premier League f- just over 30 years ago.

Obviously had the, had the real, not the glory days because that was obviously winning the Premier League, but had their heyday really in the, the 2000s.

Obviously growing up myself certainly thought of Blackburn Rovers as a Premier League club, but very much punching above their weight in terms of obviously the population and, and, you know, relative size of the club without obviously the Jack Walker money which accelerated them to win the Premier League.

Um, so to see the team sort of dismantled in the way it was, which many Blackburn Rovers fans see, see that as that was the case when Venky's did come in.

What do you think the fan perce- uh, yeah, the fan perception of it was where Tony was rumored to take the job and then now he has took it? Could you walk me through like what fans were feeling like when, when that was going, going on?

Right.

'Cause they were trying to get him to sign this contract.

They wanted obviously to show him and give him opportunities, and he did play a fair bit at the start and he couldn't...

He started a few games and he couldn't complete the, the 90 minutes 'cause it was so fresh to him playing at that intensity.

So it, it would go off with cramp quite regularly in the early sort of weeks.

There was a bit of, um, animosity in the way he left, I think because it, fans knew ultimately that the club had sort of been held to ransom a little bit on these clauses that were in the contract.

The previous director of football at the time, Greg Broughton, who, who was great, uh, with the media and sort of would go into detail and have chats with myself and with the other local media, sort of explained that they had internal chats at sort of like February time when they were chasing the playoffs and said, "Look, we can't..." And they, they unanimously agreed they couldn't play Ash just for the sake of pushing this, this release clause up.

What, what have you made of, I guess, Helberg since he's come in the end to last season, the summer window and, and their chances this season?
