And I guess what I'm wondering is why is it valuable to bring entertainment into learning? I mean, it sounds obvious that we all should, but I'm curious as somebody who is actually coordinating and curating things, what are you looking for and what's driving this interest in for getting humour and entertainment into these learning programs?
10:18
I mean, a big part of it is obviously we want people to enjoy our activities and enjoy our events.
10:25
We want them to walk away, you know, smiling and wanting to come back.
10:29
So obviously adding some humour and some entertainment really helps to do that.
10:35
But I think also, I mean, you know, my experience teaching like right you know right back at the start of my career was that like you can stand up and you can give the best possible explanation of something um but if you do it in a really sort of dry unengaging manner um it is not really going to sink in for a lot of a lot of students um and high school students are an excellent audience to train on because they are very unforgiving with their attention spans.
11:04
They will only give you their time and attention if you really work for it.
11:09
And humour is a very good way of connecting with that attention span and holding it for a bit longer.

What about you? Have you experienced any events or activities where you've maybe thought humour and entertainment was not necessarily the right way to go?
