What do you think that sort of, like, tells us about humanity and, like, the human condition? [laughs]
3:11
Well, history does say, um, when it goes left unchecked, challenges left unchecked, it will repeat itself, and that's exactly what is happening.
3:21
And I find it, it con- it connects for me also with Windrush generation.
3:25
I'm sure you've heard about that.
3:27
Um, the Windrush generation, mostly Caribbean people, African and Caribbean people, who were involved in the Second World War.
3:33
They came, and they fought for the motherland, the U- U- United Kingdom, and then after the war, many of them settled in the UK.
3:42
And, um, 50, 60 years later they were being told, um, [laughs] "Sorry, thank you, but, um, can you go back now, please?" Do you know what I'm saying? Um, a lot of them, their children were born in the UK, their grandchildren, they pay tax.

5:42
They don't use a ton of resources, and they contribute to the tax base.
5:47
What we at Business Insider found is that that isn't necessarily always the case.
5:53
We did an investigation called The True Cost of Data Centers, and one of our findings was, um, you know, data centers are guzzling millions of gallons of fresh water a day.
6:05
Forty percent of, of US data centers are in water-stressed areas of the country.

You know, I, I wonder if you could just elaborate for me a little bit more on some of the other environmental impacts that you're, uh, coming up against in your reporting.
