... document classifications, like, that's just, like, commodity through AI, through vibe coding.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
Not even vibe coding, like, literally just through really intelligent, like, prompting on, you know, copi- like, Copilot, uh, Claude, you know, building, like, agents, right? So it's, it's just looking at this, like, universe of what are...

Ellen ChoiGUEST
what do practitioners have directly available in their hands as alternative to vendors, you know, which includes vibe coding and other types of tooling as well.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
So, like, there are certain types of features which, um, you know, ven- it's gonna be very difficult for vendors to sell that, you know, as a separate standalone offering.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
Things that are, like, very, like, regulated, deep, uh, like, workflow-specific, those things are safer because, you know, it's just harder for kind of off-the-shelf generalized solution or a practitioner to vibe code their way into something that's going to meet regulatory requirements, you know? So that's just more complex.

So we've probably got a number of CPA firm leaders who are listening to this very podcast, and they're going, "Wow, vibe coding, eh? Now, how do I get into this myself?" What advice would you have for accounting leaders who want to vibe code, who want to, uh, do it safely and effectively and in a way that benefits their firms?

So I would say that we've been all on this – I divide the AI times into pre-chat GPT and post-chat GPT, right? I mean, we've been talking about AI, you know, for a long time, but really like post-chat GPT and open AI, that's when things really took off in terms of the progression of the interest and adoption and, you know, how AI is actually integrated into our work.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
So, you know, we've seen kind of the step every single year in terms of more accountants Understanding this is a way of the future.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
They experiment on it in their personal lives and they understand the impact and the potential on the work front.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
And it's very uneven in the sense that you have people that are very curious and innovative all the way down to entrepreneurs.

So it sounds like there's some homework to do before implementing AI that you're not just jumping in and using various apps, that there's some decisions that need to be made.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
Yeah, what we see is we always see, it's not that they don't have AI knowledge in the firm.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
And for some reason, this seems to be a surprise, which is that one mid-level person who's like using ChatGPT or Cloud for stock tips trading and they use like four different LLMs outside and everyone's like, I had no idea that there were people that were super fluent and really into AI.

Ellen ChoiGUEST
So there isn't a consistent shared understanding that is firm wide of what AI is, how it's applicable, how it should be used, how it doesn't work, you know, how where it falls flat.
