I definitely wouldn't say that it's been gender blind, but I think that there have been both positive and negative experiences.

Yeah, I mean, I had some interactions both as a trainee and as an instructor where I felt like I was maybe not being taken seriously or being blittled or being overlooked by people on the boats with me.

But I think I had a little bit... of a backbone I could sort of rely on because it was a very similar experience in the superyacht industry coming up that as a female deckhand.

I mean, the first superyacht I ever had a contract on, I was the first female deckhand the captain and the first officer had ever worked with.

But I got given the job over 300 other applicants.

So do you have any advice to give anybody who's got a mad idea for an adventure or who just wants to start sailing like you did with a zero to hero?
